The Steel-O-Chain™ 9809K Chain Lock provides great protection against theft with an XPlus locking cylinder specially developed by ABUS The ABUS XPlus cylinder built into the lock body is even more picking-resistant than its predecessor and offers excellent protection against manipulation of the bicycle lock. The 9-millimetre square chain as well as the housing and structural parts of the locking mechanism are made of specially hardened steel. The lock has been awarded ABUS security level 12 out of 15. In order to protect the paintwork on the bike in the long run, the steel chain is covered with a textile sleeve. Even the keyhole has a cover to protect it from dirt and corrosion. ADDITIONAL SECURITY Our popular ABUS frame lock adapter chain is now available with IvyTex technology.The innovative IvyTex cover is dirt and moisture repellent and even better: it helps to increase protection as the synthetic material slows the penetration of cutting tools. Underneath is a square profile chain made of hardened steel alloy. The chain can be connected to a number of ABUS frame locks and to the Alarmbox 2.0. It serves as additional security, for example to chain the bike to a fixed object with a pre-assembled frame lock. An additional key is not necessary for the plug-in chain. It does so thanks to the smart 3D Position Detection sensors, which detect the smallest of movements in all three dimensions. The sensor technology incorporated into the BORDO Alarm 6000A can distinguish between picking attempts and the small vibrations which occur when the lock is connected, for example, or a football bounces nearby; in these situations, the lock will emit a small warning beep but will not sound a full alarm.
